“A vivid, fearless presence” - New York Times
“A fresh, authentic look at the legendary Nadia Boulanger”
Bruno Monsaingeon | French documentary maker
About
A mesmerizing portrait of a muse, NADIA is a Russian doll kind of play.
Strip off the biographical layers of the legendary music teacher – her sibling love and rivalry, her feminist career challenges, and her search for genius - and NADIA actually reveals secrets of how music is created.
Performing as Nadia Boulanger, Adriana Zabala shares the stage with a trio of non-speaking musicians whose extraordinary performances amplify Nadia’s psychological world and connect the dots between Boulanger’s brilliant insight and the success of students as disparate as Piazzola and Quincy Jones.
In an 85-minute solo tour de force, Ms. Zabala delivers what audiences crave — magic in the moment.
